For new hiring throughout the school, 2020–21 was a landmark year. In response to student demands for a more diverse theatre faculty, the creation of two teaching-track positions brought in two Black women—Detra Payne and Tasia Jones—to teach acting. This year we will welcome thirteen additional faculty, seven of whom are tenure track.
